Year-round soccer opportunities for TCSL members.

Minnesota NPL

The Minnesota NPL is one of 18 nationwide member leagues of US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues and is the highest level of TCSL’s competitive structure.

Age Groups & Levels

13U-19U Boys & Girls
Two Levels: Super (Highest) & Premier

Qualification: Teams must qualify into the NPL based on on-the-field performance in previous seasons. More information about qualification is located here.

Schedule:

13U-14U: 10-month schedule (September-June)
15U+: 7-month schedule (December-June), due to high school soccer commitments in the Fall.

Teams play an appropriate number of matches as determined with the Club Directors of clubs participating in the NPL.

Minnesota NPL teams generally do not participate in the regular TCSL Autumn, Winter of Summer leagues and exclusively play an NPL schedule.

Showcase/College: 16U+ teams will be exposed to college soccer opportunities. At least one Showcase event will be provided for teams.

League Winners: Advance to the US Club Soccer NPL Playoffs/Finals.

Autumn Season

Age Groups:

8U: TCSL Fives
9U-14U: TCSL League

Levels:

Three levels of play at 9U & 10U (Red, White, Blue)
Four levels of play at 11U & 12U (National, Regional, State, Cities)
Three levels of play at 13U & 14U (Regional, State, Cities)

Schedule:

8U: TCSL Fives Festivals
9U-14U: Teams play a 6-match schedule. Matches are scheduled on Friday nights, Saturdays or Sundays.

Play generally begins the weekend after Labor Day.

League Playoffs/Postseason:

8U-10U: TCSL Autumn Festival scheduled typically on the second weekend of October.
11U-14U: The top 4 teams in each age/gender/level qualify for the TCSL Final 4, typically held the second weekend of October.

Winter Season

Timing: Mid-November – mid-March

Age Groups:

Schedule:

8U-10U: One-day festivals
11U-19U: 6-match schedule (3 home/3 away).

Facilities: Played at home club facilities, or at facilities scheduled by TCSL.

League Blackout Dates (11U-19U): November 25, 2024-December 1, 2024; December 23, 2024-December 29, 2024

Summer Season

Age Groups:

8U: TCSL Fives
9U-19U: TCSL League

Levels:

Three levels of play at 9U & 10U (Red, White, Blue)
Four levels of play at 11U & 12U (National, Regional, State, Cities)
Three levels of play at 13U & 14U (Regional, State, Cities)

Schedule:

8U: TCSL Fives Festivals
9U-19U: Teams play a 10-match schedule. Matches are scheduled during the week.

Play generally begins the first week of May.

Divisions are assigned “Primary” play nights. While the initial schedule will use these play nights, games may be rescheduled to any night of the week during the reschedule window.

League Playoffs/Postseason:

8U-10U: TCSL Summer Festival held typically in late June.
11U-19U: The top 4 teams in each age/gender/level qualify for the TCSL Final 4, typically held in mid-July.
