Twin Cities Soccer Leagues is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Kubista as its Manager of Competitions.
Kubista has spent the last seven years coordinating some of Minnesota’s most popular events including the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, Trail of Terror, and the Minnesota State Cup. Most recently, Katie worked for the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation, the producer of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival and Cinco De Mayo Westside Saint Paul, tasked with marketing, promoting and organizing both events. Katie has extensive experience with competitive and recreational-based soccer activities, having coordinated marketing, programming and events to both groups. She also planned tournaments throughout the State and Midwest Region, in coordination with US Youth Soccer.
“Kubista brings valuable experience to Twin Cities Soccer Leagues, including insights into soccer programming, event planning, customer service, and marketing. Her experience and passion for soccer will help drive our mission for making TCSL the highest quality soccer league experience in Minnesota,” said Matt Tiano of Twin Cities Soccer Leagues. “Through our search process, Katie came highly recommended by you, our TCSL members. I am confident that Katie’s background and diverse skill set will enhance TCSL capabilities across the board while continuing to deliver benefit to all stakeholders.”
Kubista’s passion for soccer extends beyond her professional experience. She started playing soccer at the age of 12 for the Burnsville Fire Soccer Club. For most of her soccer career she was a goalkeeper. Katie earned her BA degree at Augsburg University, majoring in communications with an emphasis in marketing. After playing soccer at Augsburg, she began coaching Women’s Soccer at her high school alma mater, the Academy of Holy Angels, where she is currently the Head Women’s Goalkeeper Coach. The Stars most recently had success at the Minnesota State High School League State Championships, finishing third and fourth in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
“It is an honor and a privilege to join TCSL and to help support the clubs that work tirelessly to enhance the soccer experience,” Katie said. “I wish to thank Matt and the TCSL community for their trust and confidence in my abilities to continue the success of the organization. My goal is to ensure that TCSL is the premier league option for soccer players and families in Minnesota.”
When away from soccer, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband Levi and dog Harley.
